What does it mean that the image is labeled "Actual Disc"?
The "Actual Disc" mark indicates that it is our own image of the exact disc you will receive. There will therefore be NO variation in color shades or stamp.
All discs marked "Actual Disc" are also weighed by us with precision scales. Since manufacturers often have a larger margin of error on the scale, you may experience receiving a product that is marked with a different weight.
We group discs that have identical colour, stamp and weight together, so you may find that there is more than 1 in stock of a disc marked "Actual Disc".
What weight should I choose?
What weight should I choose?
Short answer: Is there a difference of a couple of grams between the different variants? Then it doesn't matter much.
Long answer: In general, a lighter disc is often easier to throw for beginners, but is more affected by wind and can be perceived as less reliable. Furthermore, a lighter disc will "skip" forward less when it hits the ground. Experiment with different weights to discover the differences.
If you buy a disc under 170g, it is considered a "lightweight disc". It can be beneficial to experiment with lighter weights, especially for beginners and players who struggle to get up to speed on the disc.
Mantis is a shot-shaper for experienced players, and a distance driver for newer players. A touch of overstability provides control at low or high speeds. Throw it hard for a hyzer flip or "S" distance shot, or keep a straight line at slower speeds.

Z is Discraft's most hard-wearing and durable plastic, which means that the disc retains its flying properties for a very long time. It is harder and slightly more overstable than ESP.

The Discraft mantis flies a little differently in every plastic. I prefer the stock Z-Line plastic as that fits the flight I am looking for. The Mantis is a very under stable fairway driver. I love it for woods golf as I am able to rip on it in tight lines and get beautiful hyzer flip or turnover flights. (Nivå på anmelder: Viderekommen)
The Mantis didn't click with me. I picked up a Z line on a whim as it felt nice in the hand. On the course, it didn't fly like I was expecting. In Z I imagine these start out more overstable than other plastics. Based on the flight numbers I was expecting a Valkyrie type disc, but the mantis and less turn and more fade and went much shorter distance than the Valkyrie or even the Teebird I compared it to. The Z line plastic was pretty hard and slick as well. I know people throw this well, and pros like Missy Gannon utilize it regularly. But it was a pretty easy hard pass for me. My first ever tournament ace!! This disc is amazing! I threw it flat, let it turn, then slowly fade right into the basket! A disc everyone needs! (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
Controllable fairway driver. Goes well on any angle you put it on. I use this for RHBH shots from around 225-300ft. If I put it on hyzer it will flit up to flat and then slowly fade left the rest of the flight. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
Great stable fairway. Go this because im a uli fan and swears by this disc. Great controllable fairway all around. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
